Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian announced on Wednesday that they will debut a fashion line in late summer. That announcement on its own isn't as surprising as the location of the sisters' latest venture: Sears.

The Kardashian Kollection will launch exclusively at 400 Sears stores, according to WWD. The juniors line of apparel, lingerie, jewelry, accessories and shoes will hit stores in August.

"Not only do they have locations nationwide, but we recognize that Sears will allow us to reach multigenerations of fans and people who are interested in fabulous clothing at affordable prices," Khloe, 26, said.

According to Kourtney, 31, the sisters have already done a bit of market research. "We love Sears. There is a Sears right near our house," she raved. "It's such a great store that is part of America's retail history."

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars' most recent retail venture, Kardashians by Bebe, will conclude with its Resort 2011 collection.

Hard Times For Kardashian Fashion Business

http://www.radaronline.com/sites/radaronline.com/files/imagecache/350width/wenn5580236.jpgThe gilded life of the Kardashians is finally showing some of its flaws. News of Bebe potentially dropping the sisters' resort collection came a day after a New York Times column gave a scathing, first-person take of a recent trip to the sisters' new store in Manhattan.

"Dash is an odd fit even for global anti-chic SoHo; the meatpacking district must be weeping," Jon Caramanica wrote in the NY Times following a trip to the store with some pals.

The review said the store- which Kim, Kourtney and Khloe opened this fall to much fanfare- had lackluster inventory "essentially split into two categories of fit: vacuum-sealed and hot-air balloon." Describing one pricey outfit a friend and fellow shopper assembled at the store, Caramanica wrote, "You could wear this look, in the same way you could hire an enthusiastic 5-year-old as your stylist."

Earlier this year, Bebe had launched a Kardashian line inspired by "something the sisters would wear on vacation." The 15-piece collection retailed from $119 to $129.

Bebe president Emilia Fabricant defended the sisters in an interview with WWD, though she admitted that they are re-thinking their partnership with the Kardashians.

“The sisters do still have relevance,” said Fabricant. "But at Bebe we need to move with fashion and we want to be first in the fashion world with everybody else and not fall behind. We are definitely assessing the situation.”

Jessica Simpson Building A $1 Billion Empire

http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2010/stylewatch/blog/101220/jessica-simpson-300x400.jpgWith her southern charm and girl-next-door appeal, it’s hard to believe that Jessica Simpson is in fact a fashion powerhouse, sitting at the helm of a nearly $1 billion empire.

But with retail sales of her successful lifestyle brand totaling $750 million this year, that is precisely what her line of shoes, accessories, denim, swimwear, watches and fragrances have turned the newly-engaged star into, reports WWD. And her secret, according to Vince Camuto, founder and CEO of Camuto Group, the main licensee for Simpson-branded merchandise, is her approachability.

“People like her,” he tells WWD. “People look at her as a style icon.” So much so that Jess is broadening her brand even further, launching a contemporary sportswear line of stylish separates including jackets, woven and knit bottoms, as well as tops and dresses, all priced from $39 to $129.

“This new sportswear line reflects my evolving style, which combines comfort, femininity and flirty fun,” Jessica said in a statement. The new collection will be available at more than 650 specialty and department stores throughout the U.S. and Canada starting in the fall of 2011.
