The Cast Of L.A. Candy: Here's Our Picks

Although Lauren Conrad’s fiction novel “L.A. Candy” is still in the process of being adapted for the big screen, we thought we would help the process along by submitting our picks for a possible cast. Since the thinly veiled novel borrows heavily from Lauren’s “Hills” life — including many of her former costars — we figured we would use her California pals as a reference for our "L.A. Candy" venture on the HC Casting Couch.

JANE: The star of the book and its reality show is “fresh, innocent,” L.A. newcomer Jane Roberts. Lauren look-a-like Sara Paxton is an option we’d like to see put on Jane's heels. Sara’s reign on “The Beautiful Life” was cut way too short, but the fresh-faced blond proved that she can definitely pull-off innocent-bombshell with ease. With “New Moon” under her belt, and “The Runaways” and “Eclipse” due out in 2010, Dakota Fanning has secured herself as a teen to watch and we think its time she does a teen flick. The actress could not only handle the transition from naïve newbie to reality queen, but her star-powered name could also bring some real weight to the movie.

MADISON: Former “Mean Girl” Lindsay Lohan or the princess of East High, Ashley Tisdale, would be perfect as Madison: a power hungry blond who feeds gossip about Jane to a tabloid. (Ring any bells, Heidi?)

BRADEN: And for Jane’s sweet guy friend/ crush (whom we think is referring to Brody Jenner)? “90210” cutie Matt Lanter or Bella’s “New Moon” bestie, Taylor Lautner, would fit the bill.

Lauren Conrad: Kohl’s Chick

Always looking to what’s next, Lauren Conrad was spotted at the launch of her new LC collection for Kohl’s department store last night (October 1).

The former Hills babe looked flirty and fun as she arrived at the West Hollywood shindig on Melrose, sporting a loose-fitting short black dress with matching funky heels.

During a recent interview, Lauren confessed that she’d be a horrible pick to play the role of Jane Roberts in the film adaptation of her novel “L.A. Candy.”

“I think my acting is offensive! I’m an awful actor, I’m not super comfortable with it. In fact I was just trying to do lines … and they’ll tell you, I cannot memorize lines.”

Showing up for an old friend, Whitney Port made an appearance and looked spectacular as she arrived, sporting a grey blouse teamed with a pair of black leather shorts and some fun polka-dotted shoes.

Lauren "Lo" Bosworth was accompanied by boyfriend, Scott Hochstadt, as she came to show her support for her bestie even though she has a plane to catch in the morning to Miami, FL.

The City's Roxy Olin (whose eye brows are much improved from Tuesday night's episode of The City), and Lauren's former Hills co-star, Frankie Delgado, also were in attendance.

Actor Danny Masterson aka DJ Mom Jeans was on the turn tables.
